QotD: The Power of the Dark Side

This quote has always fascinated me. There are two opposing thoughts in just this one line. Darth Vader has been trying to convince Luke to join him in the Empire. He has tried to lure him with the power of the Dark Side. And yet in the same breath he admits that the Dark Side has not given him the power to rule, but the chains to be enslaved. There are plenty of religious allusions in there, if one cares to look and discuss.

    1. True. But Palpatine made Vader believe it. A huge part of the Dark Side is also Deception. And definitely Palpatine’s most effective power, seen through the entire saga. It took Luke’s Light to make him see.

    1. I’ve been blogging for as long as this blog had been up. I just use WordPress.com’s free service. I did spend a lot of time finding the right template and separating everything into categories though.

  2. The power of the dark side may have an appeal, however, it is a choice that people make to succumb to their darker nature. Forever, it will dominate the destiny of the person who chooses it-that was not the case with Darth Vader, who ultimately redeemed himself and brought balance to the force. Balance was achieved by eliminating the Jedi and the Sith.

  5. You actually make it seem so easy along with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually one thing which I believe I would by no means understand. It sort of feels too complicated and very wide for me. I’m looking ahead to your next submit, I will attempt to get the dangle of it!
